Ever feel like you need to strip everything back to the basics? To understand the core of things, the starting point? That's what "Primary" is all about. It's an exploration of the fundamental elements that make up our world, and by extension, ourselves.
This was one of my first paintings, and I didn’t hold back on color. This painting is a vibrant explosion of red, yellow, and blue. These aren't just colors; they're the building blocks of everything we see, the foundation upon which all other hues are built. Think of them as the core values that shape our society, the essential principles that guide our actions. They're bold, they're direct, they're unapologetically primary. 🔥
And then there are those black lines. They weave and wander, defining the spaces where the colors meet, creating a sense of structure and form. They're like the boundaries we set, the rules we create, the frameworks that help us navigate the world. But they're also organic, fluid, reminding us that even within structure, there's room for movement and growth. ✏️
The blended colors are where the magic happens. Greens, purples, oranges – they emerge from the interplay of the primaries, creating a rich tapestry of possibilities. It's a metaphor for how society evolves, how diverse perspectives come together to create something new and beautiful. It's a reminder that we are all interconnected, that our individual experiences contribute to the collective whole. 🤝
"Primary" is a reflection on the foundational elements that shape our world, our communities, and ourselves. It's about recognizing the power of the basics, the importance of understanding our roots. In a world that often feels overwhelming and complex, it's a reminder to return to the simple truths, the essential values that guide us.
Those scattered black dots? They're the unexpected moments, the challenges, the sparks of change that add texture and depth to our journey. They remind us that life is not always smooth or predictable, but rather a dynamic interplay of forces. ✨
This painting is an invitation to examine your own "primary" elements, the core values that shape your life and your community. What are your building blocks? What are the essential principles that guide your actions? By understanding our foundations, we can build a stronger, more vibrant future for ourselves and for the world around us.
