Grassy Peace - Toning down my yellows

Grassy Peace - Toning down my yellows

With this series of paintings: Grassy Guess, Grassy Knoll and Grassy Peace, I experimented with a toned-down, more golden yellow. I have since returned to a true yellow, but I still enjoy grabbing the gold every now and then.

This series had me thinking about the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. I can't tell you why. I was born in Dallas a week after he was shot. I think I will forever feel some kind of tie to that event. There was, of course, the grassy knoll. Then, there is all the guessing about motive. Ultimately, one would hope that we can all find peace instead of violence.
